In any case, they didn’t have the money for most forms of entertainment because sports matches, plays and movies were very expensive. Travel was very expensive, too.

Nowadays, most people work 35 or 40 hours per week and have the same amount of leisure time. A lot of entertainment is not expensive and travel is quite cheap. So people can enjoy watching sports or going to the movies, or they can arrange to hang out with friends in town on the weekend.

So many people have much more leisure time than in the past. However, in some countries, teenagers do not spend much time out of school on leisure activities. For example, a recent survey of 400 students aged 13 to 19 in some Asian cities found that 92% spent most of this time studying at home. Only four hours a day is left free. Online shopping can certainly be an awesome way to go. No lines, no traffic, no crowds of people. But is online shopping safer?

Experts says that online consumers may now be better protected than traditional shoppers, especially if they follow a few useful tips. First of all, make sure that you are on the site of a real company. Some thieves have created websites that look like the real one just to get your information and money. The best way to check if a site is real is to look for the “s”, which stands for “secure”, in the “https” part of the website address bar. Another indication of a safe website is a special icon in the shape of a padlock which you can find on the browser bar. And it is better to shop with online companies that you know and trust.

Secondly, make sure your computer has a firewall and up-to-date antivirus software. Updating your software is one of the easiest things you can do to stop hackers from attacking your system and protect your personal information. Moreover, beware of links to deals that are too good to be true on social networking sites. If you have doubts, contact the sellers directly. In 1977 Governor Raul Castro signed a paper suggesting that August 7, 1977 was American Family Day. One year later, Governor Bruce Babbitt signed the day into law as an official Arizona holiday. American Family Day is now celebrated across the United States on the first Sunday in August. It encourages people to enjoy the warming summer days with those dearest to them. Principally, the day encourages families to spend time with one another. Unlike some other family holidays, people do not give gifts on this day. Instead, they celebrate the day by focusing on family relationships. People believe that the best gift one can give their families is themselves. So on this day, people enjoy being with their families. The most common activities family members often do together include playing games outdoors or going for a walk in the park, watching a movie, visiting grandparents and bringing them a picnic lunch. Some families enjoy taking an art class together, visiting a museum or trying out a new recipe and getting the whole family involved in the cooking.

Whatever people do, the most important thing should be that they do it with their families. Americans love their Family Day because it reminds them to express their love to their family and helps strengthen their family bonds.
